My Ramblings Heading into the April Long Weekend

My Ramblings Heading into the April Long Weekend

Being tired doesn't quite do justice to how I feel as I write this. Maybe, burnt out? No, not quite that either. Ahhh, exhausted, yes, that's the best word to describe how I feel as we head into the April long weekend.

And I'm not the only one who is feeling the wear and tear of 3 straight months of school without anything more than Family Day as the only brief break. I know students and staff in all schools across Peel are tired and feeling stretched too thin. Typically, we would have our batteries re-charged over the March Break which was initially scheduled for March 15-19. However, the break was pushed in an effort by the government to deter a rise in COVID cases due to fear of people travelling and gathering, and now we're still a few weeks away from what is now the April Break between April 12-16. That's why this April long weekend feels so bizarre, it's coming right before the April Break which means that 7 of the 10 school days in a 2 week period are break days, and that's something which is very, very much needed.

What will I spend my time doing this weekend? Well, I have several things on the agenda including dropping off an Easter basket for my nephew and niece, Zoom chatting with a friend who is celebrating her birthday this weekend and finally finishing my basement project that began 1 month ago.

Here are some pictures showing a bit of the process...
Carpeted floors, old furniture

Flooring is finished.

Now for the baseboards and trim!

A much needed break indeed...
